Meet The Designers

Cassandra Kirschbaum

Free Spirit. Young Heart. Old Soul.

Hey Friends! I'm Cassie, but you can call me Cas. I am co-owner and co-entrepreneur of this amazing endeavor we call Willow & Ivy Design. I am a true Midwestern girl with just enough wanderlust to crave new adventures. My dog, Bella, is my happiness, cheese is my favorite food group, I know life is too darn short and beautiful to sweat the small stuff, and I know you can never go wrong with a Korbel old-fashioned or a dirty martini to treat yourself after a long week ;)

I grew up in a little town called New Holstein in east-central Wisconsin, which was where my love for plants sparked in my first high school botany class. I followed my passion to UW-Platteville where I earned my bachelor's degree in ornamental horticulture and business. Once I graduated, I fell into a general manager position of two bar & restaurants where I learned all the first-hand mechanics of running a business efficiently.

In my last semester of college, I met an amazing man, Sid,  whom would later become my husband. In 2015 we bought a beautiful home in Boscobel, WI and began to put down some roots. This was where I had the  privilege of meeting my floral design mentor, and now business partner, Sue.  Sid and I married in October of 2016, where I did my own flowers, decor, planning, and coordination, with Sue's TREMENDOUS help, of course! I sang down the aisle, Sid cried, and it was the most beautiful day I could have ever imagined. We are now expecting our first child in April, and could not be more thrilled!

After a few years of gaining experience in the corporate world of floral we realized that it just wasn't for us-we craved more. Sue and I began dreaming and the Willow and Ivy Design adventure began. I have always believed in doing things that scare you in life, so we jumped right in. We TRULY love what we do in this therapeutic, beautiful, and sometimes stressful business. We are so blessed to have such great clients, brides, families, and husbands. We are very much looking forward to growing, networking, and meeting new, incredible people along the way!

I would just like to thank my parents and family for raising this ambitious, hardworking girl and supporting me in everything I do. Sue, thank you for helping me reach our career goals and making this not feel like "work". I am so grateful for my husband to have a best friend to come home to that supports and believes in this venture. Oh, and a shout out to Bella...just because :)

Creator. Giving Heart.  Passionate Soul.

Hi, I am Susan (Sue) Bacon, co-owner, and co-dreamer/collaborator

of Willow & Ivy Design. I am a Wisconsin girl, through and through, having been born and raised in the Kenosha County area. My husband, Don, and I, along with our kids, Kristina and Jake, moved to Boscobel in 1998. We have made this our home for the last 20 years. My family is from here, so I have known and loved the area and the people most of my life! I never tire of the beautiful hills and valleys surrounding our home and the riverways that run nearby. It is part of what inspires me!

I attended Gateway Technical College for horticulture production and marketing and later revisited my love for floral when I  attended Midwest Floral Design School in Platteville to earn my floral business and design certificate. Though I spent most of my career as a universal banker, I always came back to floral design.

Cassie and I had the wonderful fortune of meeting each other around 3 years ago, through our employer. We found ourselves to be true kindred spirits, and we complement and support each other in SO MANY ways!! It was truly meant to be, that our paths crossed!

We have experienced many fun and creative ventures. We've met so many wonderful people through our interactions with our brides and their family and friends, and also through our business and community contacts, workshops, etc. We look forward to our future and the great potential it brings. We have so many ideas and such passion for our craft. There are so many things we want to learn and explore, and of course, share with you!! We hope you'll stay tuned...
