Flower Care

To keep flowers as fresh as possible during an event, be sure to keep them in a cool place out of direct sunlight with ample, clean water. If available, use floral food in the water. Keep bouquet time out of water to a minimum and do not lay blossoms down. Instead keep them upright to prevent bruising of the petals.

Once the event has ended, stems should be re-cut and placed in water with floral food to prolong their life.  Once vased, place in an area away from ripening fruits and vegetables, away from direct sunlight, and avoid areas with drafts. You may prune wilted foliage or pluck bruised petals to improve the aesthetic.

Drying is also a great way to enjoy your flowers for a longer period of time to be kept as a keepsake or used as decoration. Be aware that dried flowers are still fragile and some flowers dry better than others. We suggest hanging flowers upside down in a cool, dark, dry place. Once dried, spray with a coat of extra hold hairspray to minimize the mess and keep petals intact.
